DMP
Developmental Movement Play
At Kate Greenaway Nursery, we are committed to fostering holistic development through innovative approaches. One such initiative is our weekly Developmental Movement Play (DMP) sessions, inspired by the principles of Jabadao. DMP emphasizes the spontaneous, free-flow movement play that children naturally engage in, supporting their physical, emotional, and social growth.
Benefits of Developmental Movement Play:
- Physical Development: Enhances coordination, balance, and overall motor skills, laying a strong foundation for future physical activities.
- Emotional Well-being: Encourages self-expression and confidence as children explore movement in a supportive environment.
- Social Skills: Promotes cooperation and communication among peers during group activities.
By integrating DMP into our curriculum, we provide a dedicated space where children can explore various movements, from gentle stretches to energetic play, ensuring they receive the physical activity essential for their well-being. These sessions not only contribute to their health but also enhance their learning experiences across other areas.
We have observed that children eagerly anticipate these sessions, demonstrating increased engagement and joy in their activities. This enthusiasm reflects the positive impact of DMP on their overall development.
